I started noticing a lot of these gorgeous quilted totes about town. My patient (and girlfriend) wore one to my office this week and I had to finally ask, "what's up with this bag!". Well, let me now spread the word. This tote is the lightest, softest, roomiest, most functional bag ever. It zips up and has a bunch of internal pockets and a pouch. I picked one up the next day and am so happy I did. I filled it with all my usual things and then some and it was still light as air. Cute, functional and easy on my back...done! xxj

One day I was browsing the web and found a cool looking picture I could replicate.  I hired the wonderful photographer Titan Light to help me capture the look. This is the fun end result. I'm so over the cold and with spring around the corner I'm looking forward to going lighter. Denim was all over the Spring 2014 runway. So excited to wear a little jean jacket like the one above. Let's all hope that the warmer weather comes sooner rather than later! xo, 5th

Mom Style: The Ladies Behind 5th & Jane

3 seasons ago, I headed out to New York City for my first Fashion Week. I had access to one presentation, one show across town and a chance to write for a magazine I had grown up reading. I decided to make the best of it, do a little shopping in the outer boroughs,  dine at my favorite restaurants and even try my hand at street style photography which in fact got published. During a day of ‘scouting’ for images, I fell in love with two women who didn’t look like the typical style bloggers walking around that day. They were heading into the shows and were shocked I wanted to photograph them. One in the business world and the other is a doctor, these two Manhattan moms from 5th & Jane, shows us just how fun (drool worthy and enviable) a mom’s wardrobe can be.

These NYC moms started an amazing style and fashion blog named after the streets they live on, one lives on 5th and the other on Jane, obviously.

If you are looking for a 4 day winter family get away, then I would highly recommend Vermont.  We went to the Okemo Mountain Resort and had a great time. There is so much to do for the kids. We skied (kids did ski school), went tubing, rode the snow roller coaster, hung out at the lodge and made s'mores & played in their video arcade. They even had ice skating and Saturday night they put on a fireworks show.  It was a perfect trip and I will definitely go back again. xo, 5th
