Right now, I am seeing Metals and Metallics show up as a hot new trend, as seen on LV's and YSL's runways.  These designers got it right, just add a piece of metal to these delicious shoes either at the tip, buckle or heel and you make them quite memorable. xo 5th

Paris in NY

Maje
Sandro
Zadig&Voltaire
Comptoir des Cotonniers

I've always admired french women for their certain je nais se quoi. Catherine Deneuve, Jane Birkin, Bridget Bardot and Mademoiselle Chanel are arguably some of the most stylish icons of all time. Their effortless chic is easier to emulate now that these popular french brands that are now stateside! Check out Sandro if you are looking to be "Left Bank inspired, Maje for "fashion oriented, ethnic infused" attire, Zadig and Voltaire for "rock and roll chic" and Comptoir des Cotonniers for "natural feminity and refinement".

All four brands are located at Bloomingdales flagship on 59th street or by clicking on links above. Happy shopping! xx j

Medium Folded Clutch in Fuschia $485
A signature clutch is a must have for every woman's closet. That being said, I am in LOVE with the oversized clutch from Emily-Cho. The leather is so yummy and the fold over corners give the shape a lot of interest. It's versatile to wear during the day as seen on bloggers Christine Cameron and Veronica P or for a night on the town like Mallorie Stark. Get yours soon! xo 5th

Boyfriend's Back

Acne Pop Trash Jeans $485 at mytheresa.com
Current Elliot Super Loved Destroyed Jeans $229 at singer22.com
J Brand Aiden Slouchy Boy Jeans $218 at shopbop.com
The boyfriend jean is back on the street but this time around looks polished and cultivated. These ladies made the jean current by pairing them with their highest heels and great jackets. The Acne Pop Trash Jean Sabrina Meijer and the gal from Stocklholm are wearing are sold out in stores but available at mytheresa.com. At $485 I think I'm going to set my sights on similar styles from Current Elliot (uncuffed) and J Brand. With the forecast saying that NYC is returning to more seasonable temps, you know what I'll be wearing next week! xx j

The Edit: Totes

Every season I embark on the search for new arm candy. I have a lot of criteria and being a working girl small bags need not apply. I need something large enough not only to hold all the essentials: wallet, keys, makeup bag, phone but also all the things city folk carry around: iPad/laptop, flats (for when my fabulous heels start to kill me), water bottle, and whatever I may have purchased along the way. That being said it can't be heavy on it's own. So it needs to be functional and stylish enough that I can go from work to dinner and drinks. I've scoured the inventory in Manhattan's choicest shops and was really drawn to all the color but for those of you who want to stick to the neurtals I snuck in the Celine. Here is my edit! xx j

Proenza Schouler PS1 Tote $1995 available at Bergdorf Goodman
Alexander Wang Prisma Tote $685 available at Alexander Wang

Floral

Whistles Garden Floral Blouse $153 at Asos.com
Milly Keyhole Ruffle Blouse $295 at Milly.com
Shoshanna Floral Print $66 at Bluefly.com
Spring is in the air and so fashion goes floral! Get ready to break out your floral tops.  As seen at Milly's runway, flowy flowery blouses are all the rage.  With the sun shining and the warm weather approaching, what better time to take out bright, fresh pieces.  I decided to pair my floral blouse with green Rag & Bone jeans, Stuart Weitzman shoes and a Stella McCartney pocketbook.  Hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day! xo 5th

Peplum

Aqua Claudia Structured Mini Peplum Dress $194 at ASOS.com
Black Halo Layer Dress $345 at Nordstrom.com
Ted Baker Peplum Dress

Parker Strapless Bustier Top $187 at Shopbop.com

Everything old is new again. I remember my mom rocking peplum in the 80s and now it's back as one of the freshest trends of the season. I love that this little ruffle gives the illusion of a whittled waist and simply brings on an air of sophistication. The irrepressible style star Giovanna Battaglia shows us how it's done pairing a amazing peplum jacket with simple streamlined pencil skirt. Aqua and Black Halo's dresses are great chic options. For a more everyday look, go a la Olivia Palermo and try a peplum top. Parker's version is a little more wallet friendly and just as cute! Remember to keep the bottoms simple. Another tip, go simple with the accessories. Both Giovanna and Olivia kept the jewelry to a minimum and have classic bags and shoes. Now go ruffle yourselves! xx j

Marc Jacobs Spring RTW 2012

Diane Von Furstenberg Yukie Color Block Dress $345 at DVF.com

Celine Trapeze $2100 at Barneys New York

This trend carried over from last spring but is still going strong. It was a present theme on the spring runway and shown from Chloe to Marc by Marc Jacobs. Loving that the look is going more subtle this year and translated into less structured cuts. The DVF Yukie dress and the Celine Trapeze are on my shopping list. I better start saving! xx j

A pop of yellow seems like a great way to March into spring. I tried it today with a blazer from Intermix, black leather J Brand pants and Stuart Weitzman wedge boots. It is cool out today, but the sun is shining. I can't wait until it really gets warm to really bring on the yellow! xo 5th
