Hudson River Park Gala

I attended the Hudson River Park Gala tonight to raise funds for the park's beautification and programs. In attendance were Christy Turlington, Ed Burns, Donna Karen, Mayor Bloomberg & Diana Taylor, Gayle King, designer of Guillermo Couture to name a few. Well done event and they successfully raised $2.2mm. As always, I was on the look out for great fashion & interesting people.

All spring I have been thinking about the perfect summer sandal. My eye has been on the Valentino leather rockstud thong flat, but at $845, I was nervous to pull the trigger. When I finally decided that I could not live without them, they were sold out in my size. Robinhood Foundation Gala

Monday night I attended the Robinhood Foundation annual gala.  They are the largest poverty fighting organization in NYC and successfully raised over $55mm this night.  In 2011 alone, Robin Hood granted more than $146mm to fight poverty.  Everything about the night was perfect, especially the fashion and the entertainment with a mini concert from Rihanna.  Loved Rihanna's look!  xo, 5th

I know in the last week that I have recommended a black leather jacket, a white blazer and now I am suggesting that we all need to own a denim jacket, but you really do! All three jackets are a must and force you to switch up your look each day and night.  The denim jacket is just so casual & fun, and can be pretty much worn over anything. You probably all still have one in the back of your closet, so I would suggest moving it to the front this season. xo, 5th
