On Saturday, July 28th many came out to support Ovarian Cancer Research Fund's (OCRF) 15th annual benefit in Water Mill. Despite the rain, the fashion garage sale was packed with over 200 designers to choose from. I made my way over early to Tucker, where I found a beautiful long dress for $120, a short dress at Trina Turk for $100 and later on in the day when items get marked down, I found a fabulous Just Cavalli purple silk dress for only $80. I was like a kid in a candy store at Vivienne Tam, who had a large selection of beautiful dresses to choose from. While I shopped and snapped photos, my son enjoyed the kids carnival, which included arts and crafts, rides, an arcade, musical performance by KBC Kids, and much more. This day was a blast for everyone. Can't wait to post my new clothes! xo, 5th

Spent last week in the Hamptons. So nice to get away from it all and spend some quality time with my little man. I got a lot of R & R but was also on the go, landing at the Atlantis LI Aquarium, Splish Splash, the Bridgehampton Children's museum, and the Wolford winery in Sagaponack. Of course no vacay isn't complete without a little shopping! J and I hit East Hampton and scored at Jennifer Miller and Blue and Cream.  I also checked out the scene at the St Barths Hamptons party and Ludicris' White Party, posts on that to come! xo, 5th

Woke up this morning with an email titled "don't hate me" from our amazing photographer/friend/consipirator, Titan Light. He submitted a photo he took of me last week in the Hamptons and it was chosen for the "best of gypsy inspired looks" in the NY Times Street Style section this week (click here to see). I don't think the photo is that flattering (and he knew that, hence, the don't hate me) but it's still pretty cool to be in the Times. Above is another pic Titan took of me in the same dress a couple of months ago that's a little better. xxj

  I ran into J. Crew a few weeks ago because I forgot to put sunscreen on and if you must know, I don't leave home with out it. Anyway, I bought this panama hat and it's become one of my favorite accessories this summer. It's oozes coolness and it seems to complete my outfits. It looks like I'm not the only one who thinks so. In the following weeks, Miranda, Caroline and Alessandra were photographed wearing the panama hat! The white version was sold out in the store so I bought the hat in natural but I love it so much that I ordered it in white too!

High-Low

This post is aptly titled "high-low" because I think it best represents 5th's and my styling mantra. It's a perfect blend of classic, trendy, high and low pieces. The chambray shirt is from J Crew and the shorts are from American Eagle. Both are classic pieces and absolute steals! The ridiculously gorgeous boots are from Ash. The beaded bracelets are from Kohl's (hello!), the cuff and belt are Hermes, the watch is Cartier and my bag is Celine. We just went from one end to the other in the retail spectrum but that's what makes styling so much fun and original. Trendy accessories shouldn't be something you spend a fortune on because they've got an expiration date. The last time I wore beaded and friendship bracelets I was in the eighth grade! The cuff, watch and handbag were investment pieces that I wear time and time again and seamlessly go with everything. So though they were expensive, I think they are worth every penny. I guess the take home of this post is don't be afraid to mix it up, be a little unpredictable and shock your friends when they ask, where'd you get that! xxj

Inspiration Board: White Denim

I have an obsession with white jeans. It's just one of the things in my closet that pretty much can go with anything and can go from casual to dressy in a blink. Whenever I catch a shot of someone rocking them, I save the picture to look back on for inspiration. If there is something that you absolutely love or makes you feel amazing, and you see it interpreted by another fashionista, save the picture! I used to make collages in portfolio albums of all the pictures I'd find interesting in magazines but now with Pinterest, I don't have to! Pinterest is a virtual pinboard that lets you organize images and share them with friends. It links up with Facebook and Twitter too!
